Aligned With His Heart

Good Morning, Beautiful.

I remember the moment when God placed it on my heart to begin praying for my future spouse. I felt scared, nervous, and, honestly, quite doubtful that praying would truly lead me to the right person. However, I had a deep urge to pray anyway, so I listened. What I didn't realize was the process involved in aligning myself with God's will. I thought that praying was all I needed to do, but God showed me that in order to desire what He desires for me, He needed to adjust my perspective. To do that, He guided me away from what I was familiar with and into unfamiliar territory so He could teach me and help me be released from the burdens I had been carrying. Matthew 11:29 became my guiding verse as God encouraged me: "Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."

I want to encourage you today to live out Matthew 11:29. There is so much about yourself that you have yet to discover. When you intentionally align yourself with God's heart, He will reveal truths about you that the world could never match.

Sincerely,

Your friend

A Moment to Reflect

"So God created man in His own image; He created him in the image of God; He created them male and female."

Genesis 1:27

What does it mean to be in alignment? Alignment is being in the right position. It's learning to walk in agreement with God, standing where He has called you to stand, and allowing your life to come into harmony with His truth. In other words, it is learning who you belong to, what you agree with, and whose voice shapes your identity.

Genesis 1:27 reveals three profound truths about our identity:

  1. "God created man in His own image."

You were intentionally designed. God crafted your personality, your physical uniqueness, your strengths, and even the areas needing growth. Nothing about you is accidental.

  2. "He created him in the image of God."

This speaks to likeness—the moral, spiritual, and intellectual capacity to reflect God's character. We are made to think, reason, love, create, discern, and mirror His goodness in the world.

  3. "He created them male and female."

God gave humanity a dual perspective, two distinct expressions of His image that complement one another. Male and female are equal in worth, dignity, and purpose (Genesis 1:31). Together, they display the fullness of God's creative wisdom.

Though sin disrupted our original alignment with God, it did not erase it. We simply lost sight of who we were created to be. This is why God continually calls us back into fellowship with Him. It is in His presence that your identity becomes clear and your direction becomes steady again.

Waiting on God often feels like a slow climb. At times, it may seem as if He is guiding you away from what looks like provision or progress. But Scripture shows us a consistent pattern in the lives of Adam, Noah, Abraham, Joseph, and David: God places His children in spaces where He becomes their source. Hidden seasons, quiet seasons, and stretching seasons are not signs of abandonment; they are places where God builds identity.

Alignment is not about striving. It is about surrender; learning to trust God to order your steps, mature your character, and fulfill His promises in His timing. Even when your life feels small, unseen, or unfinished, God is cultivating something deep within you. Nothing is wasted.

Whispers Between You and God

So today, be encouraged: God is still writing your story. Where you are right now is not a detour, it is preparation. Steward well what He has placed in your hands. Allow Him to form you, strengthen you, and lead you back into the fullness of who He created you to be.

Take a moment today to pause and ask God, "Am I walking in alignment with Your heart?" Write down one area where you sense His guidance and one step you can take to follow it.
