Becoming One
Marriage is a reflection of what it means to be united with Christ. It’s not just a commitment but a covenant. When you say “yes” to marriage, you’re also saying “yes” to becoming one. You and the person God has brought into your life are about to embark on a journey that will stretch you, strengthen you, and shape you in ways you never imagined.
You may be in the planning stage, full of excitement and anticipation. Or maybe the road hasn’t been as smooth as you hoped. The beginning may have felt effortless, but now you’re seeing the deeper work — the surrender, the stretching, the sacrifice. This is the real work of love: dying to self, choosing unity, and learning to love like Christ. God has never left your side. He was there in the beginning. He is present in the middle. And He will be faithful through every step ahead. Let Hosea 2:19, 20 be your anchor: “I will betroth you to Me forever;
Yes, I will betroth you to Me in righteousness and justice, In lovingkindness and mercy; I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness, And you shall know the Lord.”
Remember that as you walk hand in hand with the one He’s chosen for you, never forget that your true foundation is built on God. This is more than a wedding.
This is becoming one in heart, in purpose, and in Christ.
